The overriding topic of my contribution is to show how music teachers can use the e-learning platform Moodle. Specifically, I want to show how the method of Sokrates can be implemented using forums in a Moodle course.
Thousands of institutes of higher education meanwhile use Moodle. It can be used to present learning materials: text, diagrams, photos and videos. It can also be used to link to other web sites or to implement blogs and forums.
Тисячі вищих навчальних закладів вже використовують Moodle. З його допомогою можна представляти навчальні матеріали: текст, діаграми, фотографії та відео. Його також можна використовувати для створення посилань на інші веб-сайти або для ведення блогів і форумів.
In my example, I use forums to implement the didactic concept of the "Socratic method" (Socratic questions).
У своєму прикладі я використовую форуми для реалізації дидактичної концепції "сократичного методу" (сократичних питань).
Here I use Moodle as a web-based application. The yearly cost is 100 euro per year in its basic configuration and requires no administration. I am pleased to offer you free of charge access to the installation of my institute, on a fair-use-basis.

For those who are not so familiar with the socratic method, here is a short summary: Socrates did not provide direct answers for his students. Instead, he provoked a thinking process by asking counter-questions.
Для тих, хто не дуже добре знайомий з сократичним методом, ось короткий підсумок: Сократ не давав прямих відповідей своїм учням. Натомість він провокував процес мислення, ставлячи зустрічні запитання.
In the following example, Sokrates his played by professor Alla Rastrygina. The student is Leo Hamminger. The learning subject is "music theory". The student has a question about minor keys. student opens a discussion by placing a question in a Moodle forum.
У наступному прикладі Сократа грає професор Алла Растригіна. Студента - Лео Хаммінгер. Предмет навчання - "теорія музики". У студента виникло питання про мінорні тональності. Студент відкриває дискусію, розмістивши питання на форумі Moodle.
The question - answer discussion is very short. In reality, it would continue with more questions and counter-questions. The idea is to show the use of a forum for this socratic method.
Дискусія у форматі запитання-відповідь дуже коротка. Насправді, вона продовжиться з більшою кількістю запитань і зустрічних запитань. Ідея полягає в тому, щоб показати використання форуму для цього сократівського методу.
